In 2015, Southampton Garden Club, as a 75th anniversary project, planned and installed a pollinator garden in our local
Fleming Park at 1901 Sunset Blvd., Houston, TX 77005
Chaired by Mary Howe Hawkins with the help of members Sarah Balinskas, Phyllis Carney, Lee Tawse and Bev Weimer, the committee plants and maintains Texas natives, frogfruit, coneflower, Turk's Cap, blue mistflower, green milkweed, and scarlet sage (aalvia coccinea). The garden is visited by numerous butterflies, including pipevine swal swallowtail, cloudless sulphur, viceroy, and migrating monarchs.
